As part of our Sunday volunteer work days the National Trust
New Forest team are getting involved with the Great British Spring Clean, which
is a Nationwide campaign aimed at getting people together to tidy up our
precious countryside. The campaigns aim is get together 500,000 people across
the country to get outdoors, active and to help tidy up the rubbish that
blights the countryside. At the moment there are 221,174 volunteers signed up
over 722 events throughout the UK.
The New Forest National Trust team will be organising events
on Sunday 5th March 10am-1pm. They will be based around Bramshaw
Commons, Rockford and Ibsley and also Hale Purlieu and Hightown (depending on
numbers)., located at the NT car parks. Bags and litter pickers will be provided.
If you would like to get involved with the event then please
either sign up to the Great British Spring Clean website http://www.greatbritishspringclean.org.uk
to the event you would like to help with or email us and I will organise
from there. At the moment we have two events at Half Moon and surrounding area
and Rockford and the surrounding area. I would also like to have an event at
Hale Purlieu and Hightown however I will need a volunteer to host these so if
anyone would like to help with this then please let us know!
Many thanks,
Your New Forest Ranger Team.
